History
The Darth Vader was part of a Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith series of TV Games released by JAKKS Pacific and part of a line of Plug & Play device called GameKey-Ready, which used game cartridges. See the JAKKS Pacific GameKey Systems section for a complete history on this line of consoles.

Consoles
The Darth Vader console was released in 3 different versions, including one that is not compatible with the GameKey system. The non-GameKey-Ready was a released after JAKKS Pacific decided to abandon the GameKey concept and it’s therefore not compatible with GameKeys. This is by far the most common version of the console. All consoles were available in a stand-alone package. The GameKey-Ready console was also available in a Super Gamekey Combo Pack, which included one GameKey.

Games
The Darth Vader, come with 5 built-in games. These games are the same across all versions of the Darth Vader consoles, but also across all consoles of the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith series. The 5 built-in games are:

  • Coruscant Attack
  • Droid Invasion
  • Grievous Onslaught
  • Gunship Battle
  • Utapau Chase

GameKeys
The consoles part of the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith are compatible with “SW” GameKeys. Sadly, only one GameKey was released for this series and was not sold individually:

  • Yoda’s Escape + Turret Defense

So far, we were able to identify only 2 packages that came with the Darth Vader Super Gamekey Combo Pack and the Yoda Super Value Power Pack.
