History
Baiyi Animation (广州百逸动漫科技有限公司) was founded in 2007 under the name on November 27, 2007, under the name Guangzhou Qianqi Culture Communication Co., Ltd. From its inception, the company focused on the children’s entertainment and animation market, initially targeting cultural transmission and media development. Through these internal capabilities, the studio created its flagship Intellectual Property (IP): Dragon Warrior (Dou Long Zhan Shi). The 60-episode 2D/3D hybrid sci-fi action series debuted on major Chinese TV networks in 2011, quickly becoming a massively popular media franchise among children aged 4 to 14 across China.
In 2014, the company changes its name to Guangzhou Baiyi Anime Technology Co., Ltd. Baiyi secured extensive licensing partnerships and developed toys, card games, and amusement equipment. Alongside their proprietary Dragon Warrior franchise, they manufactured and distributed authorized derivatives for world-class IPs like Plants vs. Zombies and Tencent’s Roco Kingdom (洛克王国). Around the same time, M&D, a toy company from China released the Monon Color, based on various IP. This gave the idea to Baiyi Animation to extend their ecosystem into a dedicated handheld as well.
Release
The C2: Card & Color is a short-lived handheld released in China in 2015. Published by Baiyi Animation (百逸动漫), the system aimed to capitalise on the popularity of the Roco Kingdom franchise in the same way the Monon Color had done in 2014.
The C2 shares a similar concept with the Monon Color but takes the physical-card idea further by integrating the card reader directly into the console itself, rather than relying on the game cartridge. The console reads barcodes printed on holographic cards. Scanning a card adds a character, item, or ability to the current game. The system shipped with a small set of holographic cards; additional games and cards were sold separately.
The console includes a built-in Roco Kingdom-themed game.
Demise
While the system was an upgrade over the Monon Color, it never manage to rise to its success. Only five cartridges were ever released. Today, the consoles themselves are very rare but can still occasionally be found brand-new in some stores in China. The game cartridges, however, are extremely difficult to locate.

Cancelled Games
At launch 2 other games, were planned. Plants vs. Zombies 2 (植物大战僵尸2) by PopCap Games was scheduled to be released in Q1 2016. An extension of the build-in games was also in development.
